This position will have a team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors reporting to them. This role sets the strategic and tactical plans for the achievement of short- and long-term initiatives to reduce escapes, defects and scrap while improving Customer Satisfaction.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides Quality leadership and manages the daily activities of the functional Quality group assigned (CFD and Overheat)
  • Facilitate technical and career development of engineers and technicians.
  • Develops and implements plans, guidelines, policies, and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets
  • Leads implementation of proactive organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving
  • Oversees quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes
  • Manages Root Cause Corrective Action teams to reduce scrap, reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction
  • Manages teams collecting and analyzing quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs
  • Manages teams providing production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement
  • Manages team in efforts to develop and implement program quality plans and procedures
  • Leads site Zero Defect Planning (ZDP) initiatives
  • Prepares and maintains Quality documentation
  • Manages long-term resource planning including technical talent and is responsible for acquiring and developing of Quality Engineers and Quality Managers which contribute to the effective completion of quality initiatives
  • Actively addresses employee performance and organizational alignment
  • Focal point for senior leadership for quality initiatives
  • Ensuring awareness of customer requirements is promoted throughout the organizationBasic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
    • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR
    • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
    • Fundamental understanding and prior management of aerospace or other comprehensive quality management systems, such as ISO9001 and/or AS9100 International Standard.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required along with the ability to establish effective communication and working relationships with all levels and functions
    • Must be a US Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holderPreferred Qualifications:
      • Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
      • Experience leading teams of quality professionals
      • Experience executing ZDP, ACE or LEAN practices
      • Preferred degree or experience in operations management or engineering background
      • Knowledge of new product introduction tools; PFMEA, Control Plans, Characteristic Matrix, Gage Capability, Process Capability, Process Flow, Preventive Maintenance, Machine Runoff, etc.
