Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Safety Manager to
join our team in Mt. Olive, North Carolina. The Food Safety Manager
will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of our
agricultural products, while adhering to industry regulations and
standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for
developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety protocols and
procedures to uphold the highest level of food safety throughout
our operations.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee the implementation of food safety programs,
policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state,
and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
Conduct regular assessments and audits of our facilities,
processes, and practices to identify potential risks and areas for
improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production,
quality assurance, and distribution, to ensure seamless integration
of food safety measures into all operations.
Design and deliver training programs for employees at all levels to
raise awareness and understanding of food safety practices and
regulations.
Monitor and analyze data related to food safety incidents, trends,
and issues to proactively address potential risks and implement
corrective actions.
Stay up-to-date with evolving food safety regulations, industry
trends, and technological advancements to continuously enhance our
food safety systems.
Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, auditors, and
external partners, representing the company in matters related to
food safety compliance.
Lead crisis management efforts in the event of a food safety
incident, including communication with internal and external
stakeholders.
Drive a culture of food safety by fostering a sense of
accountability and responsibility among all team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred in Food Science, Microbiology, or a
related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety management
Experience in agricultural a plus .
Managed a team of 4+
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, including FDA and
USDA guidelines.
Certification in food safety management (e.g., HACCP, SQF, BRC) is
highly preferred.
Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret complex data
related to food safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively
collaborate with various teams and external stakeholders.
Proven leadership abilities to drive a culture of food safety and
inspire others to prioritize safety.
Ability to adapt to changing regulations and industry practices and
implement necessary adjustments.
