Supervisory Responsibilities:Wrenn House StaffSummary:
The Wrenn House Director provides administrative and programmatic leadership in the overall management and operations of Wrenn House. Wrenn House provides a safe, legal, and responsible environment for youth who are experiencing homelessness, have run away from home, or are otherwise in a crisis situation. We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Wrenn House is available to any youth age 10 - 17, with priority given to youth from Wake County and Raleigh.Specific position duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversees the operations of the program and ensures effective and consistent implementation of the program design across all shifts, to include adherence with relevant policies and procedures, identified best practices, and the agency's code of ethics, mission, and values.
  • Provides direct supervision to the Clinician, Coordinator, and Youth Care Specialist, to include providing consultation on decisions related to program admissions and discharges, and case support.
  • Oversees facilities management with the support of the Coordinator.
  • Provides on-call coverage and leave coverage in conjunction with Clinician, Coordinator, and Youth Care Specialist.
  • Provides direct care support as needed, to include administering medication.
  • Monitor program compliance with confidentiality, fiscal, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Monitor program compliance with records management, to include clearly establishing and enforcing quality standards for documentation of services. Works with the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Quality and Strategic Initiatives in monitoring data quality in the agency's electronic health record and other relevant program databases.
  • Oversees the management of all program funding requirements, working with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure compliance with all grant writing, reporting, and monitoring requirements.
  • Oversees staff training requirements, working with the Coordinator to support staff in completing all trainings in a timely manner; supports staff development through intentional ongoing training and development efforts.
  • Recruits, hires, onboards, trains, and develops high quality program staff, in coordination with the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Human Resources.
  • Responsible for monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback, and enforcing performance expectations. Works with the Director of Human Resources in being responsive to performance related matters, in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Monitors smooth shift change transition communication, working closely with the Clinician, Coordinator, and Youth Care Specialist to ensure unified messaging.
  • Provides effective and timely communication of agency related matters to program staff and program level information to management team and senior leadership.
  • Monitors and leads performance and quality improvement initiatives in the identified programs, to include the ongoing monitoring of program data that measures the success of program efforts. Works with the Chief Operating Officer and the Quality Improvement Coordinator in refining or changing program services in a data driven framework.
  • Provides strong leadership, to include promoting a culture that reflects the organization's values, encourages good performance and rewards productivity in the identified programs.
  • Oversee the development of program budgets and monitor program expenditures in consultation with financial staff.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders from the systems that impact our youth, to include, but not limited to referral sources, juvenile court, and regulatory agencies.General agency duties and responsibilities:
    • Completes all required trainings
    • Participates in agency outreach and fundraising events
    • Demonstrates a willingness to assist in other agency programs as needed
    • Acts as a custodian and demonstrates responsible and ethical use of agency property and facilities
    • Displays sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics

    • Learns and demonstrates Agency-wide Competencies including the areas of consumer and community relationships, continuous individual and agency-wide improvement, vision and purpose, respect and teamwork and positive leadership
    • Learns, develops, and models Positive Youth Development core competencies resulting in capacity to contribute to the mission of Haven House Services and be a resource to our youth and families, other partner organizations, and our community
    • Other duties as assignedMinimumqualifications:
      • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Mental Health, Psychology, or relevant clinical degree or Human Services degree and four years related experience and/or training or equivalent professional experience; requires a minimum of four years' experience working in community settings with adolescents and two to four years of supervisory experience in the operation of a community program. Experience working in a residential setting preferred. Knowledge of family dynamics, relationships and adolescent development preferred.Knowledge, skills and abilities:
        • Knowledge of the NC Juvenile Court System, child mental health system, homeless services system, and local community resources
        • Strong leadership skills
        • Strong written and verbal communication skills
        • Strong critical thinking skillsOtherrequirements:
          • Valid North Carolina Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
          • Proof of current/valid car insurance
