Role Overview This position is for a senior sales business development professional with significant experience. Implements lead generation and sales plan strategies. Communicates with and influences internal and external customers and sales leaders regarding sales proposals, lead generation, and sales strategies. Improves policies and processes by which business is developed by employing innovative solutions. Primary Responsibilities: * Act as the primary contact with the complex and strategic prospects; develops a professional relationship with the purpose of understanding the customer needs and doing our best to meet those within the bounds of contracted scope. * Leads business development activities for strategic prospects in support of business strategy defined by executive leadership. * Identifies large bid opportunities, prepares complex bid responses, negotiates with significant potential customers and builds and maintains customer relationships to win projects. * Contacts new customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services. * Participates as the management team representative on prospective target accounts. * Establishes personal long-term customer relationships with prospective accounts to influence opportunities. * Attending and presenting at trade shows at times to increase visibility of the organization. * Customer facing and selling role (quotas) only responsible for acquisition of new accounts. * "Hunts" new deals and customers to generate leads for new customers. * Works with customers to develop product specs for future projects. * Designs and executes marketing and sales strategies, policies, and programs for company products. * Prospects, develops, and expands business, responds to proposal requests from customers and develops proposals for presentation to customers. Education and Certifications: * Bachelor's Degree and ten years of prior relevant experience or * Master's Degree and seven years of prior relevant experience Experience / Qualifications: * Military Aviation industry experience is highly preferred. * Strong technical aptitude is required to develop understanding and present products and systems to customers. * Solid understanding of common office technology, including Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as previously working with CRM (SalesForce, Dynamics, etc?) * Proven track record of managing projects, closing business deals, and maintaining positive long-term business relationships * Ability to solve complex problems and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and with a high degree of autonomy * Domestic and international travel is approximately 15%, but could be higher if required to achieve emergent business objectives and deliverables.
