Job Description:
Develops, automates, and supports mainframe applications using
COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, and VSAM files and Java API Services
development. Adheres to and promotes principles of Agile
development. Performs continuous integration/delivery, and DevOps
engineering. Primary Responsibilities: Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going
development efforts. Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in
multiple platforms. Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several
divisional initiatives. Performs coding in more than one programming language. Applies state of the art tools and methods to enable efficiency,
performance, and agility through automating DevOps processes,
continuous integration and delivery pipelines. Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to
implementation. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications
supporting several corporate initiatives. Responsible for post-installation development of any
problems. Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a
project. Performs independent and complex technical and functional
analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Computer Networking, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related
field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three
(3) years of experience performing analysis, design, development,
testing, and deployment of mainframe applications within a
financial services environment. Or, alternatively, a Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Networking,
Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics,
or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the
job offered or one (1) year of experience performing analysis,
design, development, testing, and deployment of mainframe
applications within a financial services environment. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) developing mainframe applications
throughout the software development lifecycle, including analysis,
design, testing, and deployment using COBOL, CICS, JCL, stored
procedures, Control M, and Endevor. DE interviewing business stakeholders and systems analysts to
gather business requirements; and translating business requirements
into application design documents and technical specifications to
develop mainframe or API services. DE performing manual and automated testing of mainframe and
distributed applications using HP Quality Center, Java, Maven, Git,
and Jenkins. DE performing data extraction from multiple sources, including
APIs, Oracle databases, and FTPed flat files; performing
transformation and loading into mainframe DB2 tables using ETL; and
creating reports using Eztrieve, Rexx, or CLIST within a DB2
