Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Travel RN – Emergency Room Location: Wilson Medical Center, Wilson, NC Shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM Assignment Type: Travel Contract Job Summary: Wilson Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department on a travel assignment. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Room, including triage, assessment, treatment, and stabilization - Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to manage emergent and non-emergent cases - Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and respond to critical changes in patient condition - Document patient care accurately and in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards - Provide education and support to patients and families during high-stress situations Qualifications: - Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state - Minimum 1–2 years of recent ER nursing experience required - BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC and PALS preferred - Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills - Ability to work evening-to-overnight shifts and adapt to changing priorities
