At UNC Health Wayne, you will work with enthusiastic and knowledgeable critical care-trained advanced practitioners, along with an entire hospitalist team collaborating to ensure the best possible care is provided to our critically ill patients. You will also have the support of an Intensive Care director with over 30 years of experience who ensures your voice is heard. Our documentation is standardized throughout the inpatient setting, collaboratively created by intensivist and hospitalist leaders, making transitions of care more informative, efficient, and easier to digest. About Us: Wayne UNC is a modern facility with 316 Acute Care Beds 125-year history 16 Bed ICU (Closed) 38 Emergency Beds, 4 Trauma beds, 4 Behavioral Health Beds 8 Bed Labor and Delivery Unit 26 Bed Nursery 22 Bed Behavioral Health Unit EMR: Epic Schedule: 7am-7pm • Nighttime coverage provided by a vICU provider. Responsibilities • Provide care for the critically ill patient population while covering the ICU departments • To improve outcomes, including lower mortality and shorter lengths of stay • Coordinate all the specialty care that patients may need • Effectively communicates to patients and families throughout the entire process/procedure, including preparation and post • Maintain comprehensive records of patient care and procedures Requirements • Graduated from an accredited Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy school • Board Certified in Pulmonology required • Board Certified in Critical Care required • Familiar with standard concepts and critical care procedures • Experienced Intensivist with 2 or more years of experience preferred • New pulmonology / critical care fellowship candidates are highly welcome to apply I look forward to assisting you with starting your career at UNC Health!
