Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/16/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ED Job Details: • Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in emergency department setting • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in hospital environment • One year of nursing experience required • North Carolina RN license required • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification required (AHA or ARC) • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from accredited school of nursing required • BSN or MSN from accredited school of nursing preferred • Assess patient readiness to learn and developmental factors affecting learning ability • Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems including physical, psychosocial, educational and safety aspects • Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans • Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care • Participate in professional development and unit performance improvement activities • Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families • Utilize healthcare organization standards, policies and procedures in delivery of care Facility: This major academic medical center is part of a prestigious university health care system known for providing comprehensive medical services and advanced clinical care.
