• Knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and tools including micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gages, dial indicators, scales, profilometer, hardness testing, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) in a warehouse environment.
• Inspect mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Retrieval of drawings from various drawing/drafting systems.
• Respond to investigate, track and close customer complaints, trouble reports and warranty claims. Including the issuing and tracking of Return Material Authorizations.
• Processing of: data into the Customer Service NCR database, Supplier Returns and Inventory rejection, Returns Material Inspections and Dispositions, Receiving Rejections, Delivery Receipts, Issuing Warranty/Repair Purchase Orders, Credits, Repairs
• Review and approve material certifications for chemical and physical properties and inspect documents required on purchased materials.
• Complete required reports and quality documents
• Function as part of a quality team and interface with inspectors on the team
• Self-Starter attitude and work ethic.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Work overtime when required. Possible extended workdays, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years machine shop, quality control, or related experience (i.e. trade school, apprentice school training, etc.)
• Capable of calculating basic mathematical functions including computation of rate, ratio and percent.
• Capable of reading and interpreting mechanical machining and assembly drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret bills of materials, parts lists and material specifications.
• Ability to review, analyze and disposition non-conforming material.
• Rotating equipment product/process knowledge desired.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with and good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Knowledge of Oracle ERP systems and ISO standards a plus.
• High level of written, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds using proper lifting equipment and perform duties while standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work any shift if required.
• Other duties as directed by the inspection team lead or the Manager of Quality Assurance.
