The Military Supervisor-in-Training (MSiT) program is a 52-week training program geared toward giving junior military leaders (E-4 and above) training into our operations environment. This program will equip the trainee with the required skills, judgement, and know-how of being an effective and responsible leader in a manufacturing environment. Upon completion of the program, you will have the opportunity to be promoted into a full time Production Supervisor role at any of our 40+ manufacturing locations nationwide. For more information visit: ********************************* Core Responsibilities Participation in Assigned Operations Rotation - Work in different departments within a specific function to gain perspective, including food safety, quality assurance, engineering, human resources, warehousing, and plant operations. - Complete assigned tasks relevant to the assigned training plan. - Perform walks and visual inspections of Production floor in observation of unsafe acts or conditions; takes immediate corrective action where necessary. - Maintain adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly. - Work with the Operations Managers and/or Superintendents/Supervisors to maintain knowledge of yields and variances, methods of calculations, typical problem areas and methods for corrections and improvement. Administrative Documentation and Organization - Ensure training and documentation is maintained with applicable laws and regulations. - Report progress of assigned objectives to the Military Training Program Manager. - Work with assigned mentor to establish career goals and project next steps of the rotation. Special Projects and Assignments - Participate in special projects and initiatives to work on independently and present findings to plant management and/or corporate management as needed. - Travel for corporate trainings and to gain exposure to operations at other facilities, as applicable. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); required. - Bachelor's degree; preferred. - A minimum of three (3) years of military experience with a rank of E-4 or above, required. - Actively transitioning from the U.S. Military, or transitioned no more than one year prior to program start date (or in active reserve or guard status). - Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem solving skills. - Good planning and priority setting skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships. - May be required to work long hours and weekends. - Must be able to travel up to 20%. - Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. - Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment. Supervisory Responsibilities - Provides training and guidance to employees on the Production Floor. Work Environment & Physical Demands The work environment & physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. - Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area. - Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. - Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. - Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
