To learn more on the incentive program guidelines and eligible positions, visit - -Performs a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of the clinical activities in the UNCHCS.This position has responsibilities in the following sections of the laboratory - Microbiology Processing and STAT Area, Bacteriology, and Special Microbiology sections of the laboratory. The Special Microbiology section consists of Mycobacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, and Sendouts. -Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday 10:00am - 8:30pm and - rotating holidaysResponsibilities include but are not limited to the following: -1. Direct specimen processing and direct specimen Gram stains -2. Rapid antigen testing - Cdiff, Strep, Legionella, Trichomonas, Mono, Crypto -3. Rapid molecular/PCR testing - RSV, Flu, Cdiff, Gram Positive Susceptibility COVID testing -4. Total Lab Automation instrumentation (BD Kiestra), plate reading and organism ID -5. Susceptibility testing - automated and KB -6. Quality control of instruments, reagents, and media. -7. Investigates problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow. -8. May perform teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science students, Pathology residents, training of new employees. 10. May serve as a technical resource. -9. Reports results to healthcare providers and consults providers regarding test results. 13. Reviews test results to ensure accuracy of report and timely correction of errors. -Other InformationOther information:Education Requirements:--- Requires Bachelor's of Science degree.
