THE POSITION We are seeking a Senior Laboratory Tech nician who will be responsible for the production of minor cannabinoids. These processes will be carried out at varying scales based upon the material as well as consumer demand. The position will also assist in enhancement and improvement of current production. Serves as a technical aid that supports production and improvements, quality improvements, and customer requests. Assists the R&D team with the activities and operations required to complete the functions of the research and development/minor cannabinoid department. Study and comprehend all policies, procedures and operational guidelines set by the management team. Other duties include assisting process optimization and product enhancement activities. RESPONSIBILITIES Executes pilot and production scale chemistry to support all levels of minor cannabinoid production, analytics, and processing for multiple cannabis-based research. Executes individual project goals and follows outlined priorities for research and development endeavors. Assists in new research and development procedures and techniques. Understands and meets daily goals, expectations, and deadlines. Collaborates with R&D teams to meet research and development schedules. Follows SOPs, batch records, inventories, traceability logs, tracking logs, etc. Follows guidelines for acceptance and testing of chemical raw materials in manufacturing. Follows written directions and maintains batch records for production. Troubleshoots, fixes, and services equipment. Records and maintains inventories for raw materials, chemicals, and equipment. Records and aids maintenance of technical documents, databases, and reports. Operates within the company's Quality Management System. Maintains a clean and organized work environment. Communicates effectively and consistently. Follows all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control Additional tasks as assigned by management EXPERIENCE Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in research and development, chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees. Ability to take direction and initiative. Skills in intermediate math. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with coworkers and management. Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Proven problem-solving skills and track record of successful technical accomplishments Enthusiasm for research and formulating/improving product formulations. Understanding of cGMP guidelines and FDA regulations related to the pharmaceutical industry Proficient in using MS Office and Google applications. OTHER DETAILS This is a full-time position based out of Roxboro, NC. Compensation commensurate with experience. Background and reference checks required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time (4-6 hours) with frequent kneeling and bending.
