We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate HOMEBUILDERS®
Therapist to join our dynamic team. If you're looking for an

exciting positions available with us. JOB TITLE: HOMEBUILDERS®
Therapist SUPERVISED BY: HOMEBUILDERS® Program Supervisor and/or
Program Manager REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: A
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a
closely related human services area. A minimum of two (2) years of
experience working with children and families. A valid driver’s
license and/or government-issued ID is required. Must have reliable
transportation. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF HOMEBUILDERS®
Therapist: The Supervisor shall be 100% dedicated FTE to the
HOMEBUILDERS® program Conduct behaviorally specific, interactive,
and holistic assessments of the family. Develop a Service Plan, in
collaboration with the family, the local child welfare agency and
others, within one (1) week of the start of service. Use the
model’s evidence-based practices, including motivational
interviewing, behavioral parent training, cognitive-behavior
therapy, and relapse prevention strategies to help facilitate
behavior change. Therapists shall teach family members a variety of
skills, including child behavior management, effective discipline,
positive behavioral support, communication skills, problem-solving
skills, safety planning, and help families establish daily routines
through direct teaching, role playing/practicing, coaching and
prompting, audio/visual aids, written materials, and homework.
Provide core services structured through the HOMEBUILDERS® model.
HOMEBUILDERS® provides intensive, in-home crisis intervention,
counseling, and life-skills education for families who have
children at imminent risk of placement in state-funded care to
prevent unnecessary out-of-home placement. Therapists are on-call
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Therapists carry two (2) cases at a
time and a third case may be opened when the therapist expects to
close one of the other cases within a few days. Therapists should
help families meet their basic needs by helping the family access
concrete goods and services such as one-time emergency assistance
for food, housing, transportation, educational classes and
certifications, etc. that are directly related to achieving the
family’s goals, while teaching them to meet these needs on their
own. Provide families with counseling, child development knowledge,
parenting skills, anger management and communication skills.
Collaborate with formal and informal community resources, services,
and systems to link families with appropriate and timely resources
and identify gaps and/or barriers to families’ access to services.
Therapists shall, prior to the conclusion of services and in
conjunction with the family, develop a written plan to maintain
progress achieved and identify unmet and/or ongoing service needs
of the family. Therapists shall be trained, and will be required to
use, HOMEBUILDERS ® data management system known as the Exponent
Case Management (ECM) system. RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION GUIDELINES
Must be available to attend twelve days of training in the first
year of employment and any additional trainings necessary to
successfully perform the job duties. Considerable knowledge of
mental health and substance abuse disorders. Considerable knowledge
of available community resources, services, and the coordinating
efforts needed for clients with mental health and substance abuse
problems. Prior experience with HOMEBUILDERS ® Model, or other
evidence of adhering to evidence-based practices. Ability to
respectfully represent the agency and establish a rapport with the
community. Ability to determine appropriate community services and
agencies needed to meet the client's needs. Ability to communicate
effectively in oral and written forms. Ability to network and
coordinate efforts between outreach, treatment, and other support
systems for the clients. Must be able to physically perform the
basic life operational functions or climbing, stooping, crouching,
reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, walking, fingering,
grasping, talking, and hearing. Must be able to perform sedentary
work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or
negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift
objects. Must possess visual acuity to perform extensive reading
and determine the accuracy of work assigned. Must be able to safely
